Gretchen & Bobby, August 2009

Congratulations to Gretchen and Bobby Demanche on their beautiful wedding on August 8, 2009. The couple is honeymooning right now in Niagara Falls and I really wish them the best of luck because not only was their wedding a lot of fun to shoot, they were very gracious hosts.

This was one of my first official bookings as a wedding photographer. After my illustrious career as a reporter fizzled I started to slowly approach photography in part because I had some experience under my belt, in part because I had the equipment, but most because no one was really willing to pay for writing they way that they were willing to pay for someone to help solidify their memories.

I was quite excited once the booking was confirmed and August 8 could really not come quickly enough. The night before, after getting in from the National Marine Life Center's Mermaid Ball (a post about that later this week), I made a checklist of things I needed to have ready and the following morning I check it twice.

I would like to thank the couple from the bottom of my heart, it was a beautiful wedding and I wish them the best of luck going forward.
