Why Should I book a Mini-session? | Boston Lifestyle Photography
What is a mini-session?
Mini-sessions are bite-sized photography experiences. Typically 15-30 minutes long, these sessions are designed to offer clients a turn-key experience with Ryan Richardson Photography; all you have to do is pick a time during the shoot and then show up with a smile. So why would you want a mini-session over the complete experience?
It’s Easy - For our full sessions I like to think of the process as a collaboration between us. Everything about a full session gets customized to meet your goals for the shoot - we’ll talk about themes, props, and locations. With a mini-session I handle the location and any decoration, the only thing that you have to do is pick out a time and turn up. Sometimes you don’t need the chef’s tasting menu, sometimes you just want some take out.
It’s Fast - Mini-sessions are perfect for family portrait photography because some kids can get tired and bored pretty easily. For holiday sessions especially, sometimes you’re just looking for that one perfect shot of everyone just looking at the camera and smiling.
It’s Economical - Let’s not beat around the bush, sometimes you just want to get something nice for a good price. Sure you could pay for a full session, but if you’re just looking for one shot for a Christmas card then all you need is that 15 minutes. Think of it like dividing one session up between several clients. We also lean a little more on post-session print and digital sales for mini-sessions.
Dip Your Toes In - Mini-sessions aren’t just for family photos. Occasionally we’ll set up boudoir marathons, cosplay shoots, or other kinds of events, so clients that are interested in those services can try it out without making a bigger commitment.
