Vendor meals can be a confusing topic for couples planning a wedding, what are your best options when it comes to feeding your wedding photographer?

Catering for your vendors can be a contentious issue because weddings can get expensive! So what should you do about caring and feeding for your wedding photographer on the wedding day?

As a Boston wedding photographer, I always try to encourage couples to feed the vendors that are going to be there with them through the whole wedding day. There’s nothing as sad as a hangry DJ looking forlornly at everyone dining on surf and turf. Some vendors will also require a meal in their contracts, so it's always good to ask about those provisions prior to booking so there are no surprises.

Serving your vendors is a great idea because everyone needs a boost after a long day in the matrimony mines. Getting a chance to sit and refuel will help carry them through the rest of your celebration. Dinner service also tends to be a down beat during the wedding, so it’s easy to squeeze them in for a short break, even if you keep them close by in case something interesting starts happening. Some caterers will also offer vendor meals at reduced rates (but double check what those are because I’ve seen meals that made the Fyre Festival look generous).
