Is a Wedding Photographer Worth the Cost? | Boston Wedding Photography
I’ve had one client spit out their coffee at me during a meeting. We were discussing different packages and going through options and he asked about the cost of one particular package - the one with all the bells and whistles. The coffee came out when I told him that it was $8,500.
For that client, what was being offered wasn’t worth it, instead they went with a plainer package for around $3,200 which would help them to capture the memories and moments from their wedding day. That amount was worth it to remind them of a day when the people they loved gathered to celebrate this exciting new journey - which can be more important than ever as our social circles get scattered far and wide. It was worth it to have pictures with the bride’s grandmother, who they lost only a few months after the wedding day.
You can always buy an album later, but you can’t buy back those moments that slipped away into the past. What you are buying with wedding photography isn’t just art, it’s a kind of insurance for your memories. A photograph, done well, can help to whisk you back to that past and bring back those feelings.
For couples with more modest budgets, we also offer custom packages to help tailor coverage to the moments that matter to them. Sometimes it’s not worth it to get pictures of everyone getting wild on the dance floor at midnight, but it is worth getting that first kiss as newlyweds or those pictures with your family right after the ceremony.
