Berkshires Wedding - Stump Sprouts, August 29, 2015
It was a wedding nestled in the rolling green hills of the Berkshires, amidst apple trees and flower gardens that splashed a touch of color onto the hillsides retreating into the hazy blue distance. For Emily and Andy, Stump Sprouts in Hawley, Massachusetts offered them a chance to celebrate their wedding in the wide and beautiful outdoors with a little bit of rustic charm in the barn and bungalow of the cross-country ski retreat.
The ceremony was nestled up against the edge of a meadow, freshly mowed to make room for the rows and rows of white chairs adorned with flowers. The stately pines laid cool shadows over the many people gathered together in the Berkshires to celebrate the wedding of Emily and Andy, offering a bit of escape from the heat of a warm August day in Western Massachusetts.
The bride wore an antique dress passed down from her grandmother and mother and accented it with pearls. The white contrasted wonderfully against the vibrant colors and deep greens of late summer in the Berkshires, a location that's just made for wedding photography.
Immediately after the wedding ceremony as the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour, we photographed the couple, their families and bridal party against the backdrop of the Berkshires. The grounds at Stump Sprouts offered a myriad of choices for scenery from forests, open fields, gardens and the old barn with it's grayed and weathered wood serving as a more rustic touch for Massachusetts wedding photography.
Following cocktail hour, the sun set beautifully over the hills and a harvest moon rose fat and orange above the hills. A few lamps and lights lit up the garden and the wedding became an evening underneath the stars that hung so beautifully in the night sky. Congratulations to the happy couple, and thank you for having us at your beautiful Berkshires wedding.
