Jason and Kim: Beauty on the Beach
Showers fell intermittently as two families gathered in a little cottage in Chatham, Massachusetts. The children, three young girls who were about to become sisters, ran interference between the bride and the groom to ensure they didn't see one another until the moment was just right.
The forecast had been gloomy, but inside everyone was holding out hope that the sun would push away the clouds for the wedding Kim and Jason had been planning on Harding's Beach.
It was going to be a small celebration, a heartfelt ceremony amidst the dunes followed by a party back at the cottage. All around there were little touches of Cape Cod, the hydrangeas cut from the garden, the shovels and pails that would line the aisle for the ceremony, and the starfish and shells accenting the tables and centerpieces.
The rain stopped just in time for the party to head to the beach. The couple could not have asked for a more beautiful summer day as a cool breeze blew over the dunes and the sun filtered through the clouds in a way that made everything seem to glow.
In front of their gathered relatives and friends, the couple pledged their love not only to one another, but to the whole family they were bringing together that day. Occassionally, the lure of the sand and surf proved too distracting for the younger members of the wedding party, but their joy only added to the charm.
The ceremony ended just as the sun came out from behind the clouds, and as the newlyweds walked across the beach they got a round of applause from beachgoers.
There's just something about Cape Cod that can turn even a casual wedding on the beach into something stunning.
